Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone knows of any good freeware that is effective and safe for partitioning hard drives?

Does Gparted work for Vista? I currently have Vista and I'm going to resize my main partition (which is my whole hard drive) into two seperate partitions so I can dual boot XP and install programs that hate Vista (like Pro-Tools).

Also, I am having trouble installing Gparted and/or understanding how it works. I unzip it, but there doesn't seem to be an executable file to open?

Are there any other suggestions for partitioning freeware or advice on Gparted?

You need to burn it to a cd as an iso and you'll boot to that cd by selecting it in your boot menu. Afaik you can't manipulate partitions while you are in your O/S.

And it worked! Thanks for suggesting GParted guys!

Haha, I had a scare when we booted up after the re-partitioning, and Vista failed. Good thing the install CD took like 3 seconds to "repair" it.

Thanks again guys.
