I want to resize the partitions on my drive, but don't want to reformat everything. I'm running win2k pro, is there a way to do it through that? I've heard about partition magic doing it, but have a question. After I resize the partitions, does it run as like a TSR or something? Or can I go ahead and uninstall partition magic afterwards?

I've actually done what you are thinking about. PartionMagic is what I used to resize my partitions and it works great. I could relocate and resize my 60Gig HD which was 40% full in over an hour.

After you do the operation, its done, you don't need PartionMagic anymore. Version 7 is the latest.

Yes, Partition Magic 7 was developed to be XP compatible.

I have version 6 and have found it very intuitive, easy and powerful.
Now that I have one machine with XP, I first have to upgrade my Norton System works Pro to 2002, then later I'll get the new PM.

Remember, PM works in dos.

Yes, after you create the floppy discs (2 with PM6), then you can unintall PM. You will only need it should you want to restore single directories or folders from a backup set of cd's.
