Partition Magic Question

I'm trying to create a few partitions with Partition Magic 8.0 on my 20 gig hard drive. However, it's telling me it might not be bootable if I shrink the first partition below the 1024 cylinder boundary, which seems to be a little less than half of the disk size. What's the deal?

Older BIOSes couldn't read past the 1024th cylinder so it made it impossible to boot from a partition that far down the disk. Whether it will be a problem for you depends on how old the machine is and how old the OS is.

The computer is about 3 years old, but with the most recent BIOS, and I'm running a fully updated XP Pro.
