Partition Magic 8 HELP

I have a 80GB HDD with Vista on it, I have 40GB free and I want to install XP because my microphone doesnt work well with Vista. But Partition Magic 8 does not work on Vista, any ways around this or other programs to use?

If you want to simply rearrange the partition sizes, just do that in Vista.

Will PQmagic install in Vista? Use the recovery disks it creates to make bootable floppy to partition the drive.

Do that in Vista now. Have you tried? Just click on the partition you want to change in Disk Manager and go from there.

yeah, i think vista has a built in resize utility. Otherwise googe Gparted Live CD and make a disk with that. You can boot into linux and resize in there. Its a great tool no matter what OS you are using. Its like a much better open source version of Partition Magic.

Set up a virtual drive on Vista. It will allow you to run XP within in it and access it anytime you want to.
You'll have the full benefit of XP and Vista without any security concerns since the XP , as a virtual machine, isn't able to access the main OS.

Vista can do its own partitioning. But - you can use PM 8 if you do not install it - just boot with it. Then Vista does not enter the equation - just another NTFS drive, and you can do just about anything you want. The PM 8 dfisk is bootable.
