Partition Image Creator Software

I have a removable hard drive that I need to use in two computers that have different hardware. This hard drive has 3 partitions. What I would like to be able to do is create 2 separate images that I can use to re-image the C drive depending on the computer I am using. With Norton's Ghost I can't create an GHO file that is compressed that I can use to re-image the C drive. Does anyone know of a programme that would do this?

Why can't you use Ghost? I have used Ghost to restore the primary partition from an image stored in another partition on the same hard disk.

Also depending on how different the hardware is in each PC you might be able to use Hardware Profiles to allow you to move the hard disk between PCs without changing the operating system:

I just have a boot disk with the Ghost programme and do not recall what version it is. Right-clicking the programme and choosing Properties does not give a version number.
I was trying to image Win2k Pro and Server on an NTFS partition onto two separate FAT32 partition. For some reason I cannot create a compressed image when selecting Partition To Image. Only Partition To Partition seems to work.
