current settings.
Win2k Server
2x 18GIG scsi HDDs partitioned. at 4gig and 14gig and bot hare raid1(mirror)
the 4gig is the OS(C:\). and the 14gig is the data for applications and personal files(autocad drawlings etc.) (D:\)
so we picked up 2 36gig scsi hds. because the 4gig partition with the OS is getting full.. ~500meg left.
my current plan is to format the 2 36gigs copy the data from the D:\ and then purchase partition magic pro 7.0 and merge the 18gigs partitions into 1 .
so C:\ would be all the OS w/ 18gig mirrored and the 36gig would be D:\ with all the data files mirrored.
1 question i have about all this...whats a good way to copy everything from the 14gig partition to the 36gig hd? i wanna try and keep all the same permissions/shares if possible. (less work)
so if all goes well, then win2k server won't notice a difference.. the data drive will still be D:\ like before just with more space and C:\ will be the same w/ just more space.
from what i've read online, it seems partiton magic pro 7.0 will do the job... just not sure about the permission settings.
any input on this would be GREATLY appreciated !!
