Quick question for all you partioners out there, I have now seen this work twice. A bios that only supports hard drives of like 5gb, take the 10gb hd out partion it on another computer to 2x 5gb partitions and hey presto in the old computer it has now got 2 5gb drives? the bios shouldn't let this work but it does, please explain.

Another question when is the realese for partition magic for win me so I can finally move around my partitions.

Why not flash the bios to a more recent version? Or if you really need to, use the bios overlay utility that comes with most large hard drives (or is available from the manufacturer's website) to enable you to use the hd on a bios that doesn't support it.

no, no u don't understand, it works I just don't know why, the bios shouldn't recognize the size of the drive or the second partition.

Easily I noticed, ok let me try again. The bios will recognise a 5gb drive as a maximum, it has a 10gb drive in it, it only showed up as a 5gb drive, he took it out of his computer and put it in my computer that can recognise lots more than 5gb, My computer recognized the full 10gb, so I partitioned it in 2, then in his computer it became 2 5gb partitions that were both able to be accessed, this shouldn't work why does it?

I thought that is what you had to do before with older Bios'. You had to partition a large HD to partitions that were no larger than the maximum size that the Bios could read. Isn't that why it works? Now if you want to know the technical side of that, your S.O.L with me.
