I had a few jobs through college...
the summer before and winter vaction of Frosh year, I worked as a file clerk in my dad's office ($10/hour, 40 hours a week, for basically doing nothing... rumor had it, they just made up the position as a favor to my dad

spent the whole time finding and putting away files for people, and assisting other departments in random duties when they were backed up. mostly data entry and phone harrasment).
summer break between Frosh and Soph year, I worked for a temp agency. spent the whole summer as an executive assistant for some telecommunications company that went under a few months after I went back to school ($9/hour, 50 hours a week. pretty stressful, but great work experience).
the summer after Soph year until a few months after graduation, I worked at a customer service call center. crappy pay ($8.50/hour, though every summer after my first they gave me an extra $1/hour), but it was fairly stress free, and had the added benefit of not having to worry about getting fired (my boss was a close friend of the family). after graduation, I bumped around that company for awhile (did some programming, and managed their website) before finally quitting and getting a real job.
