Parler got pwned: Hackers downloaded EVERYTHING (even 'deleted posts') and even user's driver license information

This was in one of the previous threads.
The only bummer is I don't think any of this data is permissible as evidence in court as it was obtained illegally (IANAL)

I am guessing there is something in the Patriot Act or other laws that will find a way around that.

Why does this post sound exactly like all of the right-wing conspiracy posts???

I don't believe a word of this until the database is accessible and verified.

Confirmation would be good, but if it turns out to be the case, yeah I can see that.

Interweb denizens will reach out to smite used car dealerships for shaming and screwing over a pizza delivery guy. I'm guessing some out there might take the attempted destruction of their republic a bit hard, maybe do something about those pursuing it.

I agree.

But this was originally posted in a open forum.

So i dont think it would matter.

Not all of it. They've gotten their hands on delete posts, and most importantly PMs sent among people. I'm guessing that as horrible as the posts we've seen have been, the PMs between members (and some of those members may be elected officials or known-quantities) are all the more damning.

80. Terabytes.

Anyone who has ever sent a PM in parler, tell the FBI we said hi. For the record, while I am glad she seems to be sharing the data with research orgs than can make use of it, I too am taking the Chris Rock angle on this. Not saying I approve of it, but I can understand.

IalsoANAL but, the way I understand it, it can be used as evidence in court if it was obtained by civilians rather than by governmental agencies. The civilians can be prosecuted for any crimes they commit while obtaining it, but it could be used in court.

I thought they could use illegally obtained data as long as they were involved in getting bit and they can verify the accuracy of it?

I like your answer!
Then let the public dump and scouring begin!

Someone made a form on Parler that asked for name and other info plus any crime they might have committed on the 6th so that Trump could pardon them. Apparently some people have filled it out.

No one ever accused these folks of being overly intelligent.
