So, I am going to leave a car at a "town center" its a shopping center basically.

anyhow it will be there from 6pm to around 12am. Closing is at 9ish there are also restaurants their. So I am just wondering if there's a chance it might get towed? Ill be parking with like 20 other people as well.

I'd try to find a super wal-mart or something. Less chance of towing i would think.

Really depends on the place. If it's near another spot with limited parking, and people frequently park there instead, they could be uptight about it.

It's private property. It's not like a random cop can call a tow truck on you. Unless there is an agreement of some sort with the police department.

I'd do something like what you are doing at a Wal-Mart or any other big box store. Even a mall would be OK. But a little strip mall .... who knows.

Around here: Find a parking meter at 5:30, pay for 30 minutes of parking and get the rest of the night free because the meter only applies from 8am to 6pm.

Depends where you're from right? My uncle leaves his car outside on our street all the time and we estimate his chances of getting ticketed to be something like 1/4 or 1/5 on street sweeping days. Our city obviously doesn't care (I'm guessing we make enough money from property taxes that we don't hire enough parking enforcement to go around). Try that where I went to college and you're guaranteed a 100% ticket rate + possible towing. It's funny. In neighborhoods and areas where street parking isn't scarce and parking lots and garages are everywhere, people tend to care less. Where parking is scarce, the parking patrol is always on full alaert.

Leaving a car in a shopping plaza is probably not the best idea, but I've done it. When I went to school in Berkeley we would drive 10 min out to the next town where there was more parking and larger malls and just drop a car off for a few days. It worked. It's a gamble each time though, but if there's a Walmart or some 24/7 supermarket and a lot of other stores, you're usually ok. Just don't leave it for like 5 days in a row.

Do they have their own security I'd imagine? If you really wanted to you could check on what their policy is. I would think they would have a sign posted on the lot. Some areas even have local ordinances.
