So, I only heard about this happening to people, but this happened to me, yay!

I just got the mail from Palisades Park NJ muni court for not paying the ticket by due date of few days ago.. It says my car was parked during prohibited time on 9 am 12/11 Tuesday. I looked up the Google map streetview and found out that specific street is in the area of Palisades Park that I've never been in my life. I live central NJ, which about 35 miles from there, and I was in office about 5 miles from home, which makes 30 miles from Palisades Park. My car was sitting there very fine during this time.

I am going to call the court clerk for any proof that they can send me (hopefully actual ticket, because I am darn sure this would have incorrect info) and I will also gather all the info possible from my side in case they ask for it. It's only freaking $ 40 ticket, but annoying this happens.

Has anyone experienced such? How did you fight for it, or just gave up and ripped off by government?

Some tickets require information about the vehicle.

Incorrect entry of the plate and it becomes a bitch to straighten.

As you are doing, get s copy of the ticket. If no useful info, and you do not have a scrap of paperwork or electronic record, best to file an appeal complaint and pay before the fine builds up.

I have succeeded due to incorrect info on the ticket.
Correct plate, wrong state.

That's what I will definitely do. From what I remember (it's been at least 5 years since my last parking ticket), the original ticket should have maker and color info as well. I also heard some towns take picture of the car and plate, and I hope Pal Park does that. It's going to be straight win for me with the picture if they took.

Had this happen to me in a different town in NJ.

What happened was the plate number was entered incorrectly into their system.

When I got the ticket in the mail it was for a blue buick when I was driving a brown ford.

And the tag number on the ticket was 1 digit off from my tag number. Should be easy to correct, it was for me.

if its anything like rockford, il, they will tell you to provide proof that you are innocent. after you do, they will say you did not provide proof and will ask you if you want the fines to increase to $2000 per violation. after you do everything you can to stop it, you end up with thousands in fines.

$6200 i supposedly owe for 2 illegally parked cars and a pile of brush in the backyard. i am not kidding. im also not kidding when i say they will never see a dime from me.
