So, I was parking my car, backing into the space like I usually do. I'd rather take the extra time when I am parking and have an easier time leaving. Anyway, I was backing in and I knew it was a tight spot, I figured I was pretty close to scratching the car next to me but I didn't think I would hit it.

I think I'm clear of the car and I pull the rest of the way into the space, and I see a long dent on the car, with paint scraped onto it the color of my cars paint

Of course, a moment later I realized the dent was already there, I never touched the car... but it did scare me for a second.

OP is one of the types of people that you see when you about to get into an accident and your starring at the other person right in the face and they have the blank stare looking straight ahead. You know the one, if I dont look at the car Im about to hit I wont hit it and I can say I never saw it even though I know its there, and Im about to get slammed, but I wont look and all will be ok.

OP actually hit the car and put the dent in it, but feels if he thinks he didnt hear the loud thump and see the scrape with his paint and comes in here saying he didnt do it then it never took place and he is in the clear :p

Old lady's are great with this, they would cut me on a turn at a light at an intersection while Im driving my Semi, I'd be whaling on my air horn, which you'd have to be one def mother to not hear it, and one blind mother not to see me, but they cut me off anyway and they be looking dead ahead in their turn not paying any attention to the 100 ton semi about to smash into them as I'm blasting my horn, but its as if Im invisible to them and as long as they dont look at whats about to kill them it wont happen and if it does they never saw me, And I know damn good and well they fvcking do see me, how can you not see a semi with lights on all the time lit up like a rolling christmas tree :p.

OH and no bother to go any faster either, WTF. OP even if you didnt hit that car, so you say, if I was that paranoid and crappy at parking, then saw that same color paint, but knew 100% it wasnt mine, Id still high tail it out of there for if you didnt do it, the person before you did, but same color paint, the cops will surly pin it on you.

HA got me thinking of last weekend when we almost got into a wreck with my wife and boys in my Firebird. Coming to the intersection, green light for me, asshat in a pickup truck decides he going to make a left turn crossing over anyway right in front of me. I slam on the brakes, hit the horn, look at him right in the face and hes on the phone, not even looking at us but in his turn, and I missed him by a foot. Again another person that thinks if they dont look, it wont happen.

I realized I couldn't have caused it because the "dent" was kind of a scrape all along the whole side of the car, not just the spot where I would have potentially hit it.

I'm innocent I tell you!
