Parking near UCLA

Free = rare. Where are you visiting, the dorms or the apartments?

Sunday, you can park almost anywhere on the street all day without moving your car. Otherwise, on Saturday, READ THE SIGNS on the streets or beware the tow truck. Some streets are restricted 24/7 to certain residents, and some are 2 hour zones.

If you are parking on campus, parking is enforced in all lots from 7am to 9pm. You can purchase an all day permit for 9 bucks now I think. At least on the weekend, you can park in (almost) any lot you want. This does include in and out privileges all day.

It really depends where you will be parking - if you are visiting someone who lives South of Wilshire, they could be in an area where you could park the car for days, and only have to move it on street cleaning days... or in an area where you can't park unless you have a permit.

Free parking will have to street parking west of the school. It'll be about a 10 minute walk. Parking on campus is $9, up from $8 a couple of months ago. If you are coming after 6 pm, try the parking garage on Broxton Ave. It's a flat $3 rate after 6 pm. Whatever you do, do not park in the Ralph's parking lot across the street from UCLA.

So on campus lots and garages are basically free after 9pm weekdays and all day on weekends?

9pm-7am = free parking in UCLA lots. Good luck getting in if the gate arm is down.
Weekends = parking still enforced 7am-9pm. You still must purchase a permit. So no, parking is not free on weekends.

The only time it's ever free is on holidays, because parking isn't working.
