I think the best parking justice I heard about was one of my co-workers did to a lady who parked sideways through 3 parking spots with her SUV in front of a ATM at a bank. There was a car parked directly in front of her so the only way out was for her to backup through a handicap spot. Well my co-worker who is partially paralyzed in one of his lower legs has a placard so he of course parked in the handicap spot and she was now blocked in. He was getting out of the car and she came out of the bank all huffy at him that she needed to leave and he needed to move his car. He just told her "no" and sauntered over the ATM. She threatened to call the cops and he was like ok. Let them come and we will see who gets a ticket for their parking job. So he spent over 5 mins at the ATM doing his thing with her revving her engine in the SUV. Just when he was about to leave the driver of the car parked directly in front of her came out and he left so of course she then did a bunch of tire squealing in the parking lot as she left. Morale of the story if you are going to take up several spots, park far way from the door. Also don't pull in sideways into a spot, that is a douche maneuver.

Why not both? I don't respect people that do that any more than I do people that take up multiple spaces.

-I wouldn't mess with someone parked correctly but away from everyone else in the lot. They're probably being paranoid but it's not harming anyone at all.
-The thought might cross my mind if the same person were parked across four spaces in the middle of nowhere, but as long as there are spaces to spare I don't really care.
-Someone using more than one space when there aren't plenty of spaces, or parking next to the entrance like the Corvette in the OP, however, such a person is a douchebag and deserves an occasional saran wrapping.

Please show us you have ever done this.

What exactly would you do?

First I never double park.

I have parked in the nose bleed seats only to have some Florida SUV owner decide to block my drivers door.

I go in from the passenger side, then their side is not so pretty anymore.

So just the other day I ran across this guy with a vanity plate, and we all know what that equals, right? Douchebag.

Since they were parked like the douchebag they are I decided to text a friend and mete out some vigilante justice. Here's a picture I took just a minute before my friend arrived to be my other bookend.

Back when I was a youngster (21ish) a friend and I came out of a bar and this local asshat in his nice Camaro had blocked in my friend's truck. There were other places to park and we could see no reason why he would do it.
My friend put the trans in granny low and pushed the Camaro across the parking lot into a field. We then hightailed it out of there.

If someone went around and actually made useful parking spot widths, this wouldn't be such an issue.

I don't think that's actually the problem. Parking spaces are usually wide enough, but people aren't always skillful enough to stay in the middle of the lines. Making the spaces wider probably wouldn't have a significant impact unless you drastically reduced the total parking lot capacity.

They do, for normal cars. Too many people have massive SUV's and ultra wide sports cars like that fucking Corvette.

As has been pointed out already, you allusion to current car width compared to history is in error. I've been to numerous places and have seen stock as if they just came out of the dealer lot trucks parked in places where the tires are just about touching paint line to paint line.

And god forbid if you start discussing a 2 door with back seat that has one of those long ass doors.
