So you reach a fully packed no open area private parking lot, you need to go in for no more than 10 mins, you decide to risk it. Only option are park along the wall with warning signs - Fire lane... or the handicap spots (100% of them are vacant). Which one will you choose?

I would go for Handicap, god forbid, if there was a real fire, I guess I would be in deep shit. The private security cannot really give me a ticket for parking in handicap, only thing they can do it boot by car, which they probably wont dare do on a fire lane... thoughts?

*Edit after thread backfire*

Well, let me add this, this is the "visitor's" parking lot of a small business. Numnut employees have a history of parking there even though they have the assigned covered parking at the back of the building. Its past lunch time and you know no matter how long you wait you will not get an empty spot.

Private security can (and probably will) call the cops in either event. You'll at least get a ticket...and maybe towed.

If it was of dire importance I would park in the furthest handicap spot. I'd never park in a fire lane though, you just never know.

Never. I got towed once so far in my life - and thats just because dickheads in a closed shopping center want to take advantage of others while their stores are closed and the bars were open with limited parking. Assholes.

Nevertheless, I normally do not take any risks when it comes to parking. I would rather park on the opposite side than risk getting towed.

In the formatting of your question between Fire and Handicap the obvious would be Handicap. Fire lane its clear your are not in a firetruck but in the Handicap you have to look close for the correct tag.

But I have never been shopping where there was not parking. It may be a longer walk but not 0 spaces. Its usually lazy people that park in the fire or handicap area that should not be there.

wait, or park far away ... I do not mind walking.

I prefer not parking next to other people either.

This.

First time I walked out of my gym and was walking back to my car, a couple rows in and a car comes by and a woman fucking literally rolls down her window to ask me "Did you get a good parking spot?".... At a FUCKING GYM.

Thats Americuh' for you :whiste:

I would not take the chance. That's like a $500 fine if I recall. The other day I almost parked in a handicap spot though, had to go to the bank to take out cash and the entire parking lot was full, and it's one of those parking lots with a booth and you have to pay on the way out. Actually a pretty terrible parking lot, always hard to find a spot. Only spot that was open was the handicap spot. Probably would have made it on time before getting a ticket but did not want to take a chance. Eventually found a spot that was in a very tight location near the dumpster, I don't think it was actually a parking spot but there was no sign so said F it.

They should have an arm that comes down at the entrance and says "parking lot full" or something. There could be a laser that detects when a car goes in, and one that detects when a car goes out and it could keep count. Guess that's asking a lot for a parking lot though lol.

I'd just park somewhere further away and walk. Done it many times. Not only is it a fat fine, it's a douchy thing to do. Now if it's one of those idiotic hybrid spots, I'm going to grab it.

They have them at some parking garages in the city. At Yorkdale Shopping Centre in Toronto, they even have lights on the ceiling to indicate which spots are empty.

haha, exactly....and people don't seem to care if they nail your car with their doors either.

At my old gym, I used to park 1-2 blocks away, because it would be so packed, but also because I wouldn't be near anyone elses car...ha. Plus, it's only a few blocks, and shit I am at the gym ...
