I think there is amazing food in Tokyo, but if I was picking a country for a gastronomic tour, it would still be France. There are amazing restaurants all over the world, but I still firmly believe France has a higher concentration of good food over any other place in the world; regardless of the number of starred restaurants that reside there.

Besides, this comparison is totally flawed, I mean the population of Tokyo is probably close to 10 million, while Paris is what, maybe 1/3 of that?

It really doesn't surprise me. And French cuisine is not as fattening as a fast food joint. I've eaten French food almost everyday of my life and I'm skinny as a post.

paris metro is ~12 million.

tokyo metro is up to 3x that, but tokyo is a little hard to figure because it's pretty much solid city up and down the coast there.

What does this have to do with a Whopper having less fat than French meals??

It is not the amount of fat in the meal, it is how the meal is eaten and the overall lifestyle. That Whopper is probably crammed down with a Coke in about 5 minutes, while the French take their time over a meal and have wine, etc, to wash it down. Also, the Whopper is overprocessed garbage, while the French food, though possibly containing more fat (only sometimes though) is actual real food which the body can digest properly.

you're leaving out stuff like yakisoba, takoyaki, taiyaki, oyakadon, okinomiyaki, tendon, tempura, ramen stands, oden stands, yakitori stands, udon stands...etc

sure raw seafood is common, but sushi is a small part of japanese cusine. i'd say sashimi is more common than sushi.

Yes of course (that's what I meant by other eating places), but that does not mean it is only big in the US, nor does it mean sushi is very difficult to find. Sashimi is definitely more prevalent than maki, but maki and nigiri are still readily available.
