i went to europe in 2001 when one euro bought you $0.90

i bought 250 euros . . . FORGOT to exchange them back . . . i didn't even use them . . .

exchanged them back in november

I've been to Rome and Paris and would highly recommend it. Well, Rome at least. F the Parisians.
When I went in 2000 the USD was pretty strong, also helped that it was before the Euro was in circulation. My understanding is that it is still relatively cheap to fly to Europe and that you can get some very good deals on travel packages. May want to look into that.

Malaysia, Singapore, Japan, or Taiwan for city watching (they have rediculously advanced cities there). Paris/Rome for historical landmarks and sightseeing. I don't like Thailand, but thats just me.

Southeast Asia. I spent a month in Thailand and Cambodia. While I certainly want to see Europe, I don't think that Thailand could be beat in my eyes. The food was easily the best I've ever had, the islands and sightseeing were incredible, and it's cheap. Hoping to go back in the future.

Was in Greece this winter, and the euro really does suck. I'd say SE Asia, Thailand in particular - very different culture, good food, and easy transport (can rent a motorcycle if you wish). Plus lots to do including hiking in some very nice national parks, scuba diving, and rock climbing.

actually, the SO and i have already been all over south america and the carribbean (including colOmbia) so that isn't very exciting. i've been to paris, malaysia, and singapore; the SO has been to paris and rome.
