parents want new car next yr..what should they get?

I'd rather they get one of the japanese ones just for reliability and lower operating/maintanence costs.


All are very nice cars.

A bit about my folks:
Mom is more of your usual laidback driver. BUT..she needs an accelerator where when you just touch it, the car goes by itself. The car will be drivin mostly by mom. Dad has his own tank (that mid90's bens S-class monster).

Dad is of course more performance oriented and tech saavy.
Dad doesn't like FWD that much, but doesn't bother him if his car isn't RWD.



I think the japanese cars, you get more for your money.


GS seems more comfy, TL is techy, G35 is sporty.

so..what should they get?

EDIT: oh and cars in question: 2005 or 2006 models, and has to be a sedan

Lexus GS is a really nice car but I believe they are a little more than the other cars you have listed there.

I'd take the GS though. Infiniti G35 would be a close second. Acura TL is a very nice car but it's FWD and for the money I'd rather have one of the RWD cars instead.

Forget the 3-Series. Too small.

hmmm....the Lexus GS seems to be out of the other's price range. I think they go for 40-50k don't they? If I had 40-50k to spend I would get that out of the list, but if I wasn't constrained by the list, I would buy something else for 40-50k, perhaps an E class Benz for your mom.

actually ajayjuneja has a good point.. the new M45 (M35's..) are going to be excellent cars.
