Buy her a book...

I'm assuming you don't have kids?

Ok, think back when YOU were a child...you're excited for YOUR day...you see that killer present from dad, you tear into it AND...there's a book...EXACTLY...not nearly as exciting as a gameboy, nintendo, etc...

Books are what aunts and uncles get her, or what parents get her as a small, side, gift...that MAIN gift has gotta be something "cool"...while books are very important to have...and she has plenty...they're certainly not "main gift" worthy.
I agree.

Besides why buy books when you can get them for free at the library?

Because owning a book is so much better than borrowing one. If you really like the book, you can keep it and reread it when you want. You can keep it for future use whenever. And owning books is cool. 🙂

Set that bar early. Actually, getting both would be good (but I'd add in a library card...trips to the library can be cool for little ones). Just be sure to limit that gaming time.

Warioware Touched. It really takes advantage of the touch screen on the DS and the minigames are just slightly off (like the one where you have to use the stylus to unspool a roll of toilet paper).

You're absolutley right...that's a good idea with the library card!

Thanks!
