Not surprised they are lying about it. Why, an 11-month-old kid must have waited for MOM and Dad to turn their backs for a minute, then he just up and fetched himself some liquor, I guess!

This is my favorite part:

Authorities said the boy's blood-alcohol level was 0.118 percent, above the legal limit to drive, which is 0.08 percent.

Someone take the keys from that baby!! He's drunk, he could hurt someone!

i took a new parenting class. they teach you the basics and what to keep away from babies +plus tons of other stuff.

it was a great class and i did learn a lot. would it it help in situations like this? no i don't think it would. someone like this won't care what the baby is doing anywya. but for 95% its a good training class (as i said for 1st parents).

i took one with my wife and one called "boot camp for daddies". grat classes

My wife and I just read a few books on the subject over the months leading up to the birth of our son.

in the parents defense, it doesn't take alot of jd to get the baby drunk.

so did we (the what to expect series is great). The class's (wich were free i should mention) were a lot better. Granted they would nto help everyone. I do think they would be a big help to younger people though.

The do's and don'ts. some examples:

- Do Feed your child healthy foods when they are hungry.

- Don't leave babies in cars in the summer.

Well reading books is great if you are literate and you read. The parents in the OP don't look like they can/do read.

if the parents were smart enough to act dumb, maybe they could have used the old "thimble full of whiskey" excuse, saying they were trying to put the kid to sleep.

you never know, it's worth a try. better than outright lies.

i am willing to be the majority here understand that. Sad part is that a good portion of the younger new parents do not.

i have seen new parents giving infants pop! WTF
