I'm thinking of trying to do use a Parallel to USB adapter for my lexmark z11 printer so that I can use the parallel port for my scanner, My question is will this work well and are there any down sides? I was going to buy a parallel port card but I came across this adapter cable that's cheaper, I have six usb ports so this seems like a workable solution. I'm hoping to get some feed back before tomorrow which is the last day for the computer fair where I ran across this cable for around $20 dollars. Thanks for any help you can give. :)

Here is a link to a PCI Parallel Port Card that's only $19+S&H.

Edit: It's just that, IMO, there would be less chance of connection problems staying with the parallel port versus using the USB adapter.

My $.02,

Thanks for that link, whenever I've priced pci parallel cards localy they have all come in at around $40 dollars. I don't do much online buying but I may need to start. I would still be interested in yours or others thoughts on the usb solution, or were you giving me your opinion by giving me the link? :D

In any case thanks for the help.
