Parallel Port problem.

I just upgraded my system to Intel MB 845EBG2 and using WIN98. I am trying to get my tape drive to work using the parallel port. This
tape drive works o.k. on my other computer.
Under Control panel and device manager I do not have any IRQ conflicts for lpt1. However, Under tape drive controller(in device manager)
it says I have IRQ conflice. I also tested this port using a printer and it works o.k. Any ideas.

I am using Win98SE and Segate tape drive QIC-3020.
Under control panel and System property the tape drive properties says: The parallel port has an IRQ
conflict or the IRQ is disabled. I have tried both IRQ's(5 and 7).

Thank you.

What does the IRQ conflict say?
What type of Tape drive is it (iomega, seagate, hp)?
Are you using Win98 or Win98SE?

Do you have the correct bi-directional settings selected that your tape drive requires?
In the MB BIOS, what do you have selected (SPP, ECP, EPP, ECP+EPP)?
