PARAGO IS REJECTING KHYPERMEDIA REBATES FROM THANKSGIVING

I dont know if this is the right place to be posting this, but since the OM thread for thanksgiving was here, thought I would post here. If this is the wrong forum, I apologize.


If any of you bought any Khypermedia products at the OM black friday sale, check your rebates online! PARAGO SEEMS TO HAVE SCREWED THEM UP. On one of my submissions, which I bought the CDRW drive, DVD+. DVD- and CD-Rs. it says says that the Khypermedia Brand CD UPC is incorrect

The other one (to another address) says the same thing. Funny thing is that I didnt buy the CDRs on that one. Just thought I would make everyone aware. Check them, and if youre invalid, you might want to make a phone call.

I bought the CD-RW, and other non KHypermedia items, and none of my mail in rebates show as being recieved yet. Hope it goes through.....:disgust:

same thing happeend to me, but they said that they are not valid because the form says Limit One Offer, and i dont know why, but they couldnt understand the form, because it said on the form that you could get $12 Rebate and/or 5 and/or 5 and/or 8. if there is an and in there what does it mean? i also told them that the form said Officemax 2 daty OFFERS, key word is offers, plural, meaning more than one. they said the promotion number is the same, so they cant give it to me. i'm gonna call Office max and talk to them, if they say no, i'm gonna ask for my money back cause i full open the products yet, just cut the upc out, anyone have the ads saved? PM me if you do, thanks

Bought the 100 cdrs and 10 pak dvd+r...just mailed my rebate last Thursday so hopefully, I won't have any problem.

There was a thread on FW saying you can only have one KHypermedia rebate whether it is a CDRW, DVD+R, DVD-R etc. So I just sent three rebates to three different addresses. Looks like if you didn't do that, you'll have to fight for it

i know Paragoof's form misprinted the 100-cdr UPC. They listed as ...554, when the actual # is ...544. I called OM before cutting up the pkg to verify i had the right UPC, and ...544 is correct for SKU 20187245.

When you fill out the online form instead of the junk paper form, there are actually 10 or so choices for the BF kHrapermedia -
1) DVD+R
2) DVD+R and CDR
3) DVD-R
4) DVD-R and CDR
5) DVD+R and Burner
.
.
.
etc, a separate option for each combination of +R, -R, CDR, Burner & whatever else was offered. The one i ended up with was $30 for one of everything.

Whew...mine is valid as of today. Unfortunately, it is one of the smaller value rebates. Nothing else has shown up :disgust:

My rebate from years ago still hasn't arrived.
I never bought anything from them since then.

Paragon rejected my $30.00 WD 120GB rebate. When I first enquired about it, they told me to resubmit all documents. After I did that, they told me they know nothing about the $30.00 rebate. This sucks. I am not buying anything from OM anymore. Staples is better with rebates.

agreed...staples definitely has the best rebates...

after BF this year, i am never messing with omax rebates ever again. here's the number for the OM corporate office i got from FW if you want to bug them: (216) 471-6900

Don't waste your time. I got burned with many OM rebates and their HQjust made things worse.
Last time there was b*tch who would just hang up on me and be quite rude.

I filed complaints with the FTC and BBB, but OM didn't even care to resolve it.
Simply boycott them.
And warn others about them.

This is a valid thing to do. At least two-thirds of the transaction is completed by mail: You buy in the store, you file your rebate claim by mail, they satisfy your claim by mail. If you do your part (and have copies to prove it), their failure to complete their part *IS* fraud.

I recently decided that OM rebates are not worth my time. They usually require 14 day from date of purchase and sometimes as little as 7 days. Ridiculous. Anything less than 30 days from date of purchase is too short, sometimes you get busy buying Xmas gifts etc and don't realize a week or two has passed. So I just returned the items to OM and will buy from OD, Staples etc in the future.

on the CD-RW, rebateshq.com tells me the $8 rebate is valid but maxmyrebates.com isn't showing me my $32.....

Officemax rebates do typically take extraordinary amounts of time to pay, but in the end, if you followed the rules, they do pay up.

They seem the take the ful 8 - 12 weeks to produce a check.

Perhaps it's just a coincidence, but I had a Khypermedia CDR rebate from November get rejected, supposedly for invalid UPC while the rest of the items from the same multi-rebate form were paid.

I used a copy of the UPC because I'd used the original for the mfg rebate for the CDRs, but that's just the way these things are supposed to be done.

I don't know--hope it'll be resolved properly and that the DVD-Rs I bought after Thanksgiving will be handled right too.

I work at Office Max and I noticed that there are two upc's for the dvd 10 packs.
one is for the 10-pack dvd+/-r and one is for the newer version of the dvd's we recieved.
The newer dvd'd come in a dual slim pack these. I believe that the dual slim pack
dvd's are the ones eligible for the Khypermedia rebate. OM will accept both. I noticed
this on Black Friday and switched it that morning. Hopefully you guys can get your rebates.

Parago screwed me out of a $50 rebate on a Cendyne DVD-RW. They transformed me from a "anything to make it cheaper" person to a "gladly pay $5 or $15 more to avoid rebate hassels" kind of person.

It doesn't help when so many rebates need to be sent X days after order and it takes X-1 days for the UPC (ie, your purchase) to arrive.

REBATES SUCK!

PS - I might add that they pulled the "wrong UPC" thing on me. Yeah, I sent them the wrong UPC for the wrong rebate they were trying to give me. I hope the feds get around to squishing these slimy rebate deals some day.

All 3 rejected for me ---- CDRW drive, CDR Media, and DVD+R Media. Received all 3 e-mails at the same time, all say rejected due to no UPC code. I've got copies, no way I made a mistake, they got the originals. degaffman's gettin' ripped!
