Sure it does. It records elevation the same way it records latitude and longitude. GPS is a 3d tracking system.

honestly it sounds cool and all, but in reality Im thinking it was an extremely foolish/stupid thing to go paragliding around storms, shes incredibly lucky to be alive and by all counts should probably be dead.
