Where can I get these fans in the U.S.? I need the papst to replace my vibrating delta 60mm screamer & I need the YS Tech 80mm's to quiet my current 80mm case fans. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Long live anandtech!

Papst 612NGM: 20.6cfm@28.0dbA
Y.S. Tech FD1281255S-1N: 35.4cfm@27.5dBA

Well, I want the 60mm papst because it's a guarantee that it won't vibrate abrnormally and smear the thermal paste. The Y.S. Tech can be substituted with something else if you have any suggestions. These were the best cfm/noise fans that suited my needs, that's why I chose them.

CARBONYL!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, I ORDERED THE PAPST FAN, WOOHOO! Also thanks Godmare, but I'm really stringent on the y.s. tech 80mm because they are slightly quieter and i need my computer as quiet as can be. Anandtech rocks my world, I knew I could count on informative people here! 🙂 🙂 🙂

NP, You may want to read this thread. I'm afraid if you spend the $30 or so for these two fans you will be disappointed because then you will start noticing the other noises like PS fan and hard disk which the current louder case and HSF are masking and in the end be right back to where to started. Believe me I know, I started replacing one thing at a time. First the loud ass HSF I had, but then I started noticing the case fans so I replaced those. Then I started noticing the video card fan and power supply fans and replaced those with a Zalman passive HS for video and a new PS (Enermax whisper)...Needless to say shipping was very high since I ordered them separatly and sequentially. Then my hard drives whine stated driving me crazy so I sold them and replaced them with seagate barracudas.

I guess what I'm try to say is quiet cooling is a total package which requires some thought, planning and initial high expense to avoid the trail and error and high shipping pitfalls. Good Luck🙂
BTW- a 60mm HSfan is a terrible solution for noise and cooling concerned people.

I have 4 YS tech ajustable speed (rheostat controlled) 80mm fans here at the house... I'll admit they are loud compared to the Pabst 80mm; even at the lowest setting. But if you want to give them a shot as case fans my price is $8 each shipped. PM me if you are interested...

I've given careful thought to my computer noise and have even calculuated the total decibels of all fans, hence the reason I wanted those y.s. techs. I have a feeling I'll be able to find them soon on the net somewhere, somehow 😛.

The papst cpu fan is awesome! I can't even hear it 🙂
I'm still looking for those 80mm Y.S. Techs...hmm where could they be for sale?! Btw, you were correct about me now noticing my case fans ;-) I might even opt for 92mm quieter case fans & upgrade my power supply (Antec Tru Power 330) since I'll most likely be adding another hard drive & pci cards. Will a 92mm fan fit an 80mm hole? Or will this be a waste?

28 dba is pretty loud, sure you can't notice it? Anything below 23 dba is pretty much silent unless you stick your ear right by it, so if you really want silent case fans get the 80mm papsts.

I can't even hear my papst cpu fat AT ALL. I don't want to spend another $22 each for 2 papst 80mm fans... NOW, I'm looking for the following 80mm case fans:

Y.S. Tech FD1281253B-2N (Ball-Dual) 23.5dbA@30.0cfm

Anyone know where I can find them?

Next, I might upgrade my thermalright SK6 to the SLK800 just to use as minimal cooling flow as necessary to make this a very quiet pc. Also, I will replace my antec powersupply (303x) with The Antec TruPower 330. The left sided vents of my Enlight 7237 case will be be closed via some snazzy tape from the inside and the intake fan holes will be made larger. Looking good so far?

Since no one knows where you can find them, it's probably not a popular fan. So when you do find them, you probably be paying more than the papsts.

Once again, google saves the day. Here you go, there's apparently a site in the UK that sells them for 4.50 pounds. All I did was just do a google search for the model numbers and blam, there it was.

that was an exception since my cpu fan had the most priority...I don't want to spend that much for case fans ($54!). There has to be some Y.S. Tech distributer in the U.S. that carries all their fans that google doesn't "know."

another UK site overclockingstore.co.uk sells YS-TECH FD1281252B-2A (3pin) 27cfm/20dba, try a search for that manuf. code.

However, from there i decided instead to get a couple of Evercool EC8025M12S fans instead as "32.4cfm" at "<25dba". Waiting on something else arriving in stock before they ship to me. Checked their postage and "Europe, Ireland and North America small weight items 2-4 days - £5 ex VAT (Use this for all non-UK bound small orders such as coolers, memory and processors.)" VAT 17.5% in UK, not actually sure if it'd be charged to exports??

Saw this link on some other post a few days ago: Grizzo's fan specs which might help you search for fans with suitable cfm & dba.

thanks daves god, i got the fan specs from gizzo earlier on & I still want the 23.5dBA@30cfm y.s. techs. I still haven't found any at a reasonable price.
Thank you everyone for helping me!

If i got to you sooner, since vibration is one of your major concerns id highly recommend Sanyo Denki fans. Papst you know has counter weights on the outter edge of the center hub which kinda works but has to be adjusted over time or if it gets knocked out of wack, you can never get it perfect but it helps (may cause a little uneven bearing wear).
Sanyo Denki on the other hand has there own counter wieght (many ppl may not know of) which i think works way better. All the wieght is located heavy brass weight in the center of the hub. Normal fan motor vibration is toned down to a rubble rather then a rattle cause of the excess wieght of the whole fan itself.

Heres the two i would pick for your specs:
Sanyo Denki 60mm H Speed - 21cfm 28db - Goes for around ~$21 online but I can point you to places that sell em under ~$14
Sanyo Denki 80mm M Speed - 29cfm 23db - Goes for around ~$15

Everytime Gizzo posts, I feel like I'm talking to a celebrity. Gizzo, your website has been Extremely helpful and useful, thanks again! If I was rich, I'd donate you some decent amounts of money 🙂. So, Sanyo Denki it is then...I'm a little concerned about the 29cfm of airflow not being enough, but I think I'll take my chances.

/me regrets buying those 80mm evercool's & 60mm YS-Tech when same place also sells those Sanyo Denki's 🙁
