I have a passport but it expired in 2000. Would I still be able to use it? I also have copies of my citizenship certificate from 2000 and a drivers liscence. All this enough to let me into canada and back into the us over this weekend?

yes

You technically need something that proves your citizenship.

The usual combonation is a drivers license and a birth certificate.
