Paperport alternatives?

Don't know if any of you have used Paperport before, but basically, it has a feature which allows you to open a .pdf document (say for example, a standard gov't form with blanks & checkboxes to fill in) and you could basically start typing directly in the fields that require filling. Very clean for when you don't want to submit a form with handwritten fields.

I know that there are some alternatives out there that can also perform this task, I can remember reading an article a few months back in a PC Mag that did a comparo of Paperport vs. 2 or 3 alternatives, but now I can't find the mag or the article anywhere!!

Any suggestions?

Looks like I broke AT.

I did some research and I believe it was PCMag that I read the article in. It appears that no other program can make a .pdf into a "form" that you can fill out with text, like Paperport can.
