The shredder I currently have can shred 3 pieces of paper max at one time. I'm wondering if you guys know of a more powerful shredder that can handle 3-4 pieces of paper folded, inside an envelope?

I have tons of unopened JUNK MAIL envelopes from of credit card offers to old insurance papers. To open all these envelopes and shread 2 pieces of paper at a time would take me forever!

I want a POWER SHREDDER

I know they make them that can do 7 pages at a time and I think they have some that can do up to 10 pages. There are probably some comercial units that'll do more but those we'll be expensive so you wont want those. Basically go to your local office store Office Depot, Staples, etc.,) and buy the one that has the highest page shred rating (how many pages at once) and get it. That should do the trick.

Look in your phone book, alot of local document places have shredding services for like 20-30 cent per pound.

And if there is none, invest in a few of those big puppies and start your own business. Could be a ready made niche in your local market. :)

I have had this one for quite a while now and it has never failed me:

Text

Chops up the "pre-approved" credit cards and eats paperclips and staples. It's not heavy duty, but it gets the job done, plus it is cross-cut which was important to me.

I speak from experience here(clerical work ~shredding 3 years), but the best shredder you can buy is the cheapest shredder you can buy, and I call him: fire:evil:.

For those that don't want to look up a Canadian postal code, it is a "GBC Shredmaster CC085 Cross-Cut Shredder"

Staples (US) has this one for $40 Link
Wow, staples has some crazy URL's. It's item number 636382 if you'd rather search for it yourself. They also have item number 577036 for $40, looks to be a little more powerful, but it's a smaller unit (smaller opening and smaller bin).

We have that one in my office; I can attest to it's Manly Shred Quotient. It turns CDs into dust. It does 10 sheets at a time easily. Nice small pieces, too.
