I don't like their regular pizza at all, but the 2 times I had it Little Caesars deep dish was pretty decent. I had their new Pretzel crust pizza 2 weeks ago and it was really fucking good. I might go get one right now in fact.

Why not start a thread for which flavor ice cream is best. Food is relative and each person has their own idea which is best. Even if the entire Anandtech board said they hated Papa Johns, what do I care if I like it. It so happens that there is a Papa Johns about a block from my home and I like their pizza.

When you consider that there is about 50 different brands of pizza, when you include frozen, grocery store made, and such. that would give Papa Johns about a 1 in 50 chance of people liking it. From looking at your poll, oops you didn't create a poll. There is enough people in this thread to determine that Papa Johns is still above average.

Go Papa Johns!!!

I think it can pay off to shop around for some little pizza places in your own home town. Some of them will be shit, but when you hit on a good one, it will become obvious that they care about what they do and want to make the best pie they can. To do that they need your business. Happy hunting! In my town it happens to be a place called Slice, and it is pretty much jam-packed with refugees from the mediocrity of major pizza chains.

No, it's the worst.

And the politics makes it even worse.

Truth.

I mimic those that say find a local joint. Just don't bitch though when it costs you twice as much. The ingredients are going to be wildly higher quality and when you aren't buying them frozen by the ton, the pizza is going to cost more to make.

The reason why so many order from the chains is because the local shops charge an arm and a leg for their pizza. I don't order from the chains because I'm in the mood for some great tasting food, I do it because it feeds a good number of people for the price and doesn't taste all that bad.

My order:

Papa Johns
Pizza Hut
Dominos

I like Papa Johns and Pizza Hut. I can't stand Dominos, I would rather just go pick up store brand frozen pizza.

Looking for the cheapest deal on food got the American public where it is today, with endless choices of cheap crappy food. Not all local joints are overpriced, but when you use locally sourced, high quality ingredients, the price must necessarily reflect that fact. Really if all you care about is price, you get what you deserve and should just pick the cheapest of the big three, whichever that happens to be at the moment.

They're all terrible, but Papa Johns is the least worst of the big chains.

There is something with the ingredients in the big pizza chains. I always feel super shitty after eating them. When I get a pizza from a better place, I feel fine.

Lately, they've all been awful around here. My girlfriend and I had Dominoes recently from the $6 large two-topper deal and we couldn't stop farting that night. 🙁

Perhaps the big name pizzas are unrealistically underpriced, which is why they might be classified as a food-like substance.

Papa John's really is terrible pizza. A couple of months ago I had it for the first time in years and couldn't believe how bad it was.

Luckily for us, we have some pretty decent cheap pizza in town. Several are local, a couple of them are served out of bars, and couple are smaller regional chains.

Haha i just ordered papa johns for dinner tonight. I think it's pretty good. It's amazing when you put the breaded chicken on.

Fuck Pizza Hut and their lame as fuck online only deal. It shouldn't cost double for the same pizza just because you call and order.

I figured out how to get around this. Just call and say you were trying to order online but the website is not working. For me it wasn't showing breaded chicken as a topping to choose. Then say that you were trying to do online since you have a 50% off online coupon. So far the past couple times the person takes my order and applies a 50% discount no questions asked. 😀

Hmm, haven't had Papa Johns in quite awhile, but I always use to prefer it over the Hut or Dominos. Never cared much for Dominos, even after they revamped their pizza a few years ago. I especially liked that garlic butter sauce PJs include with each order!

Papa Johns>Pizza Hut>Dominos

This, OP is a moron. Best thing to do is find a non-chain pizzaria in your local area and 9/10 times it will be way beter than any chain store pizza.

It's funny because I'm the opposite. Papa Johns always guarantees me a long night in the throne room.

I think for dinner today I'm gonna have Costco pizza. Buy the large pie for a sawbuck. Low expectations met with really low price.

Roundtable has a $7.99 pizza buffet for weekday lunch 🙂 (AYCE king arthur/maui zaui/veggie pizza) They just keep bringing them out fresh every few minutes.

I am not sure if my local has the buffet. It recently has gone under new ownership. I only order from them for the specialty pizzas, the garlic chicken one. If they had the buffet, I wonder if it would be included.
