0. I don't have an income. If I had a ton of disposable income I think I would donate to charities more often, but I don't have any.

Wait, so everything you own was given to you, and yet you criticize this guy?

Go fuck yourself.

Don't like their Pizza (zeeks and PH are better IMO) but this seems like a nice gesture on his part. Wish I had ~$150k to give away...

I'm not one to disparage someone that gives anything to charity, regardless of how much they make; however, you're all suckers for a successful marketing campaign. These "what a classy guy" comments are naive,

Far more is done by people every day, and they don't put dollars for an elaborate marketing campaign to gain recognition for doing it.

lulz wut. I can criticize him all I want because he has millions and he spends $250k to buy a fucking shit car.

So, no, you go fuck yourself.

Beggars can't be choosers, so STFU and eat your Fruit Loops.

Wasn't ProfJohn the genius that said the recession was over when it was really just starting?

Likewise, we're free to criticize your for being an asshole, when you're in no place to criticize for giving anything.

It's his god damn money and he can spend it any way he chooses. He chose to donate some of it to charity. He could have given one penny and still have given more than you.

.01/millions earned > 0/thousands recieved

So you, of all people, have no place to criticize anyone for fucking anything. Unclasp your teeth from you mommy's teat and at least make an effort not to be a lazy POS.

Umm I'm sure he's doing a marketing campaign on it SO PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT IT TO SUPPORT IT.

Papa Johns couldn't make it in my town. They opened up, lasted about 5 years and ended up closing. Prime location right near campus on a main road. Alas, a Little Caesers moved in not far from there and kicked PJ's nuts in.

I'm not a big fan of charity. I believe it quells taxation so real change can't be made to everyone that needs it and not the charity case of the day.
While your theory has merit I should point out that collecting taxes really hasnt solved any problems either.
Its the desire of individuals to make a profit that actually makes things happen. One of the side perks is disposable income which can be used to help those who cant help themselves.

How much does it cost to run a 30-second nationwide TV ad a month? If >144K then it's well worth dough Papa John spends.

Wish there was one near me. They've got good pizza. It's not good the same way pizzeria pizza is but it's still good.

Yeah, that's the purpose behind any campaign. Using charitable causes for the foundation of a campaign is nothing new.

Let's see:

1) Promotional campaign with a toy
2) Promotional campaign based on charity
3) Free pizza

What better time than to launch it around the holiday season?

As someone else mentioned, I'm not arguing the fact that he's doing some good. I'm only arguing this hero quality that seems to be applied to it. It's a drive for revenue first, charity second. Papa John's will experience a great return on their investment for this piece.

i never realized how many stupid fucking people are on ATOT until i read this thread.

this guy has donated millions to society and is donating even more right now and people are still putting him down.

i never realized that so many people on ATOT donate 100% of their income.

Am I the only one who actually likes papa johns pizza? It's better than all the other "fast food" pizzas like dominos, etc...

There are definitely better pizzas to be had at local restaurant style pizza places though.

We dont have them around here, but I do. Thin crust, double sauce, double cheese, and double meat - awesome.

Papa John's is my favorite chain pizza. I buy more Little Ceasars due to price, but I prefer Papa John's.

I love PJ's, my favorite pizza of any place, and yes, even pizzerias. I don't care if I have 'bad taste' in pizza, I like it and that's all I care about 🙂

I see it as the opposite. A charity is more efficient with your dollars. If you donate $10 to a charity... $7 - $9 will make its way to the beneficiary. These numbers are published and if a charity wastes money... you don't give to it.

Now if the government taxed me $10 for a program... probably just a small fraction of that would make it where it needs to go. The majority being siphoned off by staff overhead, other pet projects, general waste, etc. And there is no way to know for sure.

Yup, *EVERYTHING* is better decentralized, from networking to civic projects. A bunch of individuals organizing charitable causes is better than 1 large organization.
