I've heard this story a dozen times from a dozen men. I think if I ever get married I'm going to have 10 cheap imitation rings cast from steel that I can wear on a day to day basis. I'll store the one (or perhaps 2) official high quality rings in a safe place.

I know I'll lose mine eventually, so we just got a cheap < 50 dollar one. She can have the multi-thousand dollar ring, I'm good with the chunk o gray metal.

Good thing it's just an object that has no inherent meaning. I've gone through two or three. First time I don't know where I lost it, second time it fell off in the ocean. I believe I'm on the third now, but I got smart and went with plain white gold so I won't be out too much if this one disappears. Next time I might go with tungsten or something.

Lots my first ring at .8 years playing baseball with my nieces and nephew. Got a second ring for $99 and left it, along with my watch at an indoor gymnasium I was playing basketball at. My third thing, which is a simple sterling silver band that cost me $12 is still kicking around 5 years later. It's like cheapo sunglasses, you'll never lose this fugger! The moment you get a nice ring it's gone.

Funny how every single guy on the planet agrees with this, whereas every single girl disagrees.

Yeah, I nearly lost mine once. I soaped up my hands at home and I guess it just slid off in the bathroom without me knowing. After I got to work I noticed it was gone and did the panic thing. Ripped my car to bits trying to find it. Luckily it was easily found when I got home. Not a nice feeling.

cheap ring for truth. lost first ring at about 5 months. it's still somewhere in my house, i just have no idea where. second one going strong at year 3 though. good thing i got the 50 dollar tungsten special. we figured if i lose a second, i'll just get a tatoo and renew it every few years.

Way to go! Did the wife find out about it before you found it?

Glad you found it :^)

You're just delaying the inevitable though. You're gonna be bitched at about something. I'd just consider this a temporary stay of execution. :^D

I lost mine about eight years ago. In preparation to moving a big honking rock I took it off and put it in my pocket. After I moved the rock, the ring was gone. I looked around for awhile but never saw it again. I will eventually have to get another ring I suppose since I've reached the age where terribly old women consider me ripe for hitting upon.

Mine was lost after having it for 18 years.

Was doing some body work on a van and it was covered with the Bondo.

Took it off in the kitchen and put it beside the sink. Went outside to continue working on the van and then ran some errands.

Wife saw the glob of Bondo and trashed it. then put the trash out for the pickup while I was out.

Original jeweler was 1K miles away and out of business.

Had to stop by another Jeweler in CA to get a replacement. Not as nice or quality, but...

I don?t like jewelry so I don?t wear one. Tried it for about 6 months but just hated it. Wife does not care.

Jewelry is for women.
