I agree that drugs are not the solution. I think it's more psychological than anything, reflecting other issues in life (or a series of mounting long-term decisions in my case).

have you ever had a panic attack?

I pmed the OP about this, but now I will air this in public. Panic attacks suck! They feel like you are having a heart attack and you are convinced that you are dying. I have had many of these, and no one can give me a good reason. I have been battling them for over a year and I still have no control over them. I take xanax when things get bad, but usually I can convince myself that everytyhing is ok. I have talked to more doctors than I care to admit about my problem and none can seem to offer any good advice.

We all have problems. We all have issues. Some of our bodies just decide to handle them differently.

ive recently (in the last week or so) had 3 panic attacks... ive never had any before in my life. im not sure exactly what it is, the doctor said it may be withdrawl from wellbutrin or percocet, but who knows.

anyway im just wondering how many of you have had panic attacks. did they occur often or was it a one-time thing? if they were recurring, were you able to stop/control them or do you still get them?

Nearly died. My heart nearly stopped after beating wildly and skipping that the EKG looked like an earthquake and they thought I broke the machine.

I was under a lot of stress then (happens when you're in Jail and facing 120 years prison time).

Haven't had any attacks like that since although I thought one could happen again when suddenly divorced a few months ago.

you must be a stress magnet. hope things are going well now!

I am certain I've had them: racing heart, cold sweat, light-headed. But my guess they are of differing severity from person to person.

Only when I smoke meth or crack.

i knew there had to be some sort of side effect... dammit.
There are no side effects.

It's all in your head.

Along with the voices.

They call to me.

Like a newborn hubcap.

It's beautifully maple.

Anxiety problems are on the rise in the USA. The roots are our lifestyles. Everything is rushed. Most people are under a great deal of stress. We eat processed food that is full of harmful chemicals to our bodies. All of these things combine to break down the body and cause psychological problems as well as chemical imbalances in our body. I'm sure a lot of this will fall on deaf ears, but a lifestyle change is what it takes to start living healthier.

No, I completely agree. When I was in Germany this summer, I noticed their society has taken an even sharper turn towards "all natural" products. It's hard to buy asperin at the local "Apotheke" but plenty of natural products containing honey and the like are widely available.

I truly love Germany's "Green" society, and I think they have the right idea over there.
