I've been mostly happy using my current 34" panel (Acer XR341CK) for the past 5 years, but was considering an upgrade before Big Navi is released. The current IPS panel only goes up to 75hz (OC'ing nixes the FSync) and I'd like to venture upward into the 100+ hz range. I don't think I'd need to go bigger in terms of physical screen dimensions, nor would I want to downscale my current resolution, unless there was some obvious incentive to do so.

Here's the criteria:

- at least 100hz
- FreeSync capable
- IPS preferred over VA
- flexible on brand (so long warranty is decent)
- 21:9 is preferred (2K is fine)
- at least 2x USB 3.0 ports
- HDMI & DisplayPort w/ miniDP
- hAS maD GAm3R fLa1r y0!!!

As a side note, I'm still undecided on whether or not I would jump into the gaming console arena later this year; without the need to upgrade my TV I should have some funds to play around with for PC goodies. Having said that I'd like to keep it under $1,000...

Any and all recommendations are appreciated. Thank you!

just FYI, 2k in 21:9 could be as low as 2560x1080
2k is a DCI film standard, it is 2048x1080.
So 2560x1080 is a 21:9 aspect ratio that is "2k".

I assume you're looking for 3440x1440 or larger since that is what you currently have.

Honestly, everything with your specs desires is either 2-3 years old already, or a fair bit beyond your budget.

LG 34GK950F-B fits but was released in 2018 so it's not exactly a new monitor
LG 38WN95C-W was released in 2020, but it's $500-600 beyond your budget.

I would consider coming down on horizontal resolution from 3440, is what I was trying to get at. I don't necessarily need the latest model on the market, just something that would improve upon my current 2016 display. This 34" Acer is just fine but comes up a little short in the fluidity department at just 75hz max FreeSync.
