Every DAY I can see (although it irritates my gums) but every MEAL ?? 😛

Do you also fold your socks? 😉

My drawers don't have much vertical height, so I layer my socks instead of folding them! 🙂

My dentist showed me how to properly floss so you don't hurt your gums. You have to wrap the floss around the tooth one way, then the other way. If you just pull straight down you will cut your gum. Also, once you develop good habits in flossing, brushing too, by keeping plaque off your teeth your gums will heal and won't bleed when you work on them with floss, picks, etc. The plague harbors bacteria that work on your gums and inflame them. They also attack your teeth, eventually resulting in tooth decay if left there long enough. Of course, some people's teeth are more susceptible to decay than others. That varies widely. My dentist (his mother too) had really good genes... neither of them had ever had a cavity in their lives. He retired end of 2019, just as the pandemic was about to break out. Good timing for him. I made my initial appointment with my new dentist today.

Already did in May, when the abscess from hell in early April got me all worked up and woken up. Wouldn’t be able to do the aforementioned binges without it. As an aside, Corn is the one of the worst in getting between the teeth and Waterpik is amazing at blasting the stuff out

Now the bleeding is gone but some areas have become sensitive again. I was able to strictly hold to the dietary restrictions for about 2 months and the teeth and mouth felt dentist fresh. But after the first couple intermittent binges, a little regression in terms of sensitivity has reoccurred in some points. I also can feel the lingering residue of sweets. I double brush with both a baking soda brushing and a regular toothpaste brushing.
I would definitely ponder whether you're doing more harm than good by double-brushing.

Screw that. I do this and works perfectly:

My gums very seldom to never bleed and I'm following my dentists advice.

Only current issue I have is that I have a fixed bridge in my lower jaw that was put in when I was 17 years old so a long freaking time ago!

At some point it will need to be removed and replaced either with a larger fixed bridge or a small removable piece. Either way I'm NOT looking forward to it at all.

No food thread would be complete without some Kaido recipes!

My pancake recipe:

My Instant Pot blueberry compote:

For sausage:

I buy a frozen roll of frozen Jones pork breakfast sausage & sous-vide it at 140F for an hour or twice, then slice into giant coins. Comes out amaaaaaaaaaaazing!

Never use pancake mix to make pancakes. Get yourself some buttermilk and make them from scratch. They’re sooooo much better. You can add blueberries or chocolate chips or whatever you want to them or just real maple syrup and butter.

You don't even need buttermilk: 1 cup of milk + 1 tbs of vinegar or lemon juice and wait 10 minutes 🙂

That would involve buying Buisquick...

I just use the Betty Crocker recipe, they turn out great. Can use buttermilk instead or just do what Fritzo says above.
  • 1egg
  • 1cup flour
  • 1tablespoon sugar
  • 3teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4teaspoon salt
  • 3/4cup milk
  • 2tablespoons vegetable oil or melted butter

Having made about 25 different kinds of pancakes over the years I have to say I like the ones I make out of Bisquick the best. (especially with fresh blueberries!)

Maybe it reminds me of when I was a kid or something. 🙂

1 1/2 c flour
1 1/2 t baking powder
1/2 t salt
3 T sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 c buttermilk
3 T melted butter

This is the recipe for the best pancakes I’ve ever had and I used to use Bisquick pancake mix prior to discovering this recipe. Bisquick doesn’t even come close. It is also good with low-fat buttermilk.
