Depends on the pancake. Very easy to make them too thick, think, add the wrong fruit/nuts, or even just plain burn them.
A waffle machine makes everything universal & simple.
Hard to say. If I have to eat either one every day for the rest of my life, I would pick the average waffle however, a GREAT pancake is a hard thing to beat if it's a once in a while deal.
Pancakes would be the better choice providing that you make them right. Ingredients in your pancakes are everything. Blueberries or Chocolate Chips are preferrable. Waffles are good if done right as well. It is better to make your own if you have a waffle-maker, but if not an Eggo with some syrup and butter will do.
Waffles would win in an unarmed fight, at least if they were the same number and size as the pancakes. If there were a bunch of dollar-size pancakes ganging up on one waffle, they'd probably win because they're quicker and more agile and there'd be a lot more of them.
