Pancakes for breakfast: Yay or Nay?

PingSpike

When I was growing up, pancakes were always this great big treat reserved only for sunday morning breakfast. And to this day when some one makes them for me I automatically think "Whoa, pancakes!"

But then it occured to me a couple months: I don't even like pancakes...They're doughy with a poor flavor and the only thing that makes them edible is when you cover them with butter and syrup. Waffles are a little better, and french toast is just worlds away. But pancakes...despite their idolized position, are actually just plain crap.

I don't fancy pancakes either. I usually make them thin enough and end up with something like a crape. I usually make 2 and then sandwich orange marmelade w/ PB. Mmmm mmm 🙂

if you don't have pure maple syrup on them then pancakes suck. none of that Aunt Gemima crap

And take away the syrup peroid and what do you have?

I really love pancakes, and I agree with that woah feeling... They were and still are rare in my house. I mostly only have pancakes at night in a diner when there's nothing else open.

We had them almost every Saturday growing up. Now my wife and I have them but not quite Every saturday. But still pretty often. But no other days and no other meals, just staurday breakfast.

And we always pour the batter and then drop in chocolate chips and every so often blue berries or something. Mmmmm

We just use the good old Bisquick recipe too. No expensive pancake mixes or anything.
