My TV Panasonic TCP50C1 has been giving some trouble for the last few months. I would have to unplug and then plug it back in for it to turn on.

Now, when the power button is pressed the red light comes on and then it starts to blink (about 2-3 seconds delay between each blink, there is no set number of blinks) and nothing is displayed on the screen. It appears as if the TV is in sleep mode.

The TV does not respond to remote control either. I can only use remote to turn the power on once, after it has been unplugged (same problem persists where the red light blinks after few seconds) . After that TV does not respond to remote.

Any feedback as to what might be wrong and what can be done to fix it.

Thanks

Did you turn off any eco modes in the menu?

I did not tinker with any settings. I can't really go into setting at this time because nothing gets displayed on the screen.

The blink code should tell you what is wrong

Where can I get the blink code from? there is no set number of blinks. The power light has been blinking for 2 hours since I tried to turn it on.

thanks

This is almost always some sort of malfunction with one of the boards in the TV. None of us can really tell you for sure what is wrong, but you can start your own investigation to narrow it down with an ohm meter. Disassemble the back cover of your TV and test out the points to see if one of your boards is malfunctioning. This vid breaks down the testing procedure pretty well.
