ACTUALLY, IT'S NOT A BAD DEAL CONSIDERING THAT THESE THINGS RETAIL AT $500 FOR THE 30 HR UNIT.

I like the TIVO, since it's cheaper. The advantage of this unit is that you can record & watch 2 shows at once--something the TIVO can't do......is that the worth the extra cash?......well that's a personal thing the customer has to decide.

check out ubid.com and search for replaytv. I just picked up a 30hr today for $309.
there's another auction going on now that closes tonight at 8:19pm PST. they zapped me
for $30 shipping and handling but it's better than $400 for the same thing at CC.

Yes, TiVo is cheaper. However, remember that TiVo has a $10 monthly fee (or $250 lifetime -- that is the lifetime of the unit). ReplayTV does not have a monthly charge for schedules, so it comes out to be much cheaper.

Also, I don't understand what you mean by record and watch at the same time. Yes, you can watch a previously recorded program while a new one is being recorded. But you can't record one and watch another live one at the same time (UltimateTV does this, I believe, but that requires DirectTV).

I have been watching these auctions and the price has been consistently $289, but then again, the more people find out about it the higher they will go. I bought one two days ago for $289. plus you can save the $20 on shipping...
