LOL yeah gross is right.......

Aaaaanyway - I got this a few days ago and I promised to let you know how it works so here goes. Before I have used a really crappy rotary shaver, a mach III with really good shave gel (From King of Shaves) and a Norelco Advantage. The crappy rotary shaver was... well crappy. The mach III works pretty well but I pretty much always cut myself somewhat since I have super sensitive skin that tends to get ingrown hairs. The mach III doesn't do a whole lot if I shave with the grain, so I have to shave against it - which leaves my face feeling super smooth. However, as somebody else complained, when I shave with a blade my face gets REALLY dry and irritated. Plus, I think the ingrown hairs are coming from the mach III shaving so close and also the irritation. OK, so I tried a Norelco advantage for a while, at least 2 months, and it is just so-so for me. It definitely doesn't shave as close as the mach III, and although it seems to irritate less, it just really leaves a lot of uncut hairs and if I want a complete shave I'd have to go over it with the Mach III (which pretty much seems to defeat the purpose??). So upon seeing this deal and reading some reviews I got this Panasonic ES8003W - its pretty good for an electric. It is VERY gentle, more so than everything else I've tried (including the Mach III). As some people pointed out in reviews I've read, it doesn't do an amazing job with the neck area, but if you're really careful you can get it all. In terms of closeness, it is almost as close as the Mach III but not quite - I can feel some really short stubble. Note, I have mostly been using this out of the shower, but have tried it in the shower as well. In terms of in the shower I did get a close shave but it was slightly more irritating around the neck area, perhaps because it shaved too close? Cleaning up this thing is really easy since you just rinse it under water, and I actaully think it looks pretty cool too! If you want an electric shaver, this one definitely seems worth the money.

here's another option if you want the braun

i just bought my syncro 7570, the one with the charger/cleaner, at walgreens for $130
not sure how much it normally costs but that seemed like a good deal
anyways, after that you can stock up on 2 packs of cleaner from drugstore.com

oh, and after you charge this thing, it smiles at you 😀

Been a Remington microscreen man for years, did excellent and had a charger stand. Battery started dieing on me not too long ago so I started looking for a replacement. Lo and behold... It appears that razors with the charging stand are not popular anymore. Is it just me or are the charging stands excellent for holding and charging the razor? Anyway... I finally found a WHAL series 4400 ("recommended by Pauuuul Harrrvy") that comes with a charging stand and 3 screen heads. Works great so far! Got it here. Linky

nMo, my husband uses the Braun Ultraspeeds. He has the 6520 and a 6550 and is happy with them. He had a Panasonic wet/dry shaver a few years back but prefers the Braun.

I just picked up a NEW* PANASONIC LINEAR ES8068N WET/DRY SHAVER for $89.00 off of EBAY. Just do a search on Panasonic Shaver. Good Luck!

Thanks Carmann.

eBay has good deals on shavers.

Braun 6520 Ultra speed for $40 (7700 rpm compared to 13000 rpm for the Panasonic linear. Vrooom!!)
Panasonic 8068 for $90 (like pussers said)

Too many choices for a newbie electric shaves for me. 🙂

Enjoy!

I've had several Brauns-- I like the way they shave but they all seem to go dead after what I perceive as a short period of time < 1 year. Think I'll give this Panny a try..

Jayhawks--on the way to the national championship.

Does anyone know any other places to get this panasonic electric shaver for a good deal? My brother and sis were going to get me this for my birthday, but then it sold out at Amazon. Any help would be appreciated it.

Thanks...

I've been using an ES8003 for a year and a half... haven't had to replace the foil or blades yet though it's probably time. This is the only electric I've found that will cut my beard... and not too hard on the face while doing same. Wet or dry it handles the whiskers of steel... cleans up with a rinse. Great find! I hunted for weeks to find it since it was originally only offered in Canada, Europe and in Japan. Significantly better technology than the 8066,67 and 68 series. SAme linear technology motor but much better head and bladed system. Enjoy!

the W just means its WET i think..
and the difference between the 68 and the 03 is huge.
the 03 has a 3d, floating head..
the 68 doesnt..
the 003 is wayyyy better.

I'm not sure if the price went up at JandR.com but it shows up as 159.88 now. Does anyone else know of any good places to get this awesome shaver for 140 or less?

Thanks...
