I got one of these a month ago at Circuit City, they had one open box for $250 before the rebate. I have really enjoyed this thing, my only complaint is that the pointer on it feels flimsy and would feel like the first thing that would break on it.

Hey I just saw an email from a dealspree visitor they tell me that they ordered some other stuff, but he got an email saying it was out of stock..

So seems to have no Real Time Inventory...

So I guess it's all Luck

BTW $250...That's so awesome!

Don't miss this one! I paid this much a couple of months ago for a broken, used one that looked like it came out of a paint mixer full of gravel off of EGay.

It's worth it just for the envious looks you get when you whip it out on an airplane or train.

great deal, too bad you can't use the 10% off coupon on it.

edit: also, I think I will be charged sales tax since I am in Nevada, but I think there is no tax for any other states.

I had one in my cart, and completed the purchase, and it went through ok. I hope their inventory is real-time, and I get mine.

I don't have mine yet, so I haven't actually done the comparison, but this is what I believe from what I have read: A laptop will have a better picture (bigger screen and better quality), while a portable dvd player is smaller and therefore more portable. Depending on your laptop, there may be a difference in battery life. The only other differences are the cost, and the computing capabilities of the laptop, which the dvd player will obviously not have. Other than all of that, I believe they should both play dvd's equally. So basically, if you want more bang for your buck, get a laptop, and you will not only have a portable dvd player, but you will also have a computer. If you want a really cool gadget that is extremely portable, get the portable dvd player. If you are a millionaire, buy both, and be sure to get the top of the line.

I spoke to a CSR, and he said that he thinks they ran out of these last night. I ordered mine a couple of hours ago (before they took it off the site), and he said I would not get one most likely. I have not gotten an order confirmation or out of stock notice yet, so who knows?
