TapeStockOnline has Panasonic AY-DVM60EJ DV tapes on sale for $3.45 each. I bought 20 and the shipping is only $4.31, comes out to $3.66 each shipped. This is a VERY good price. Maxell (OEM by Panasonic I heard) is 17.79+tax for 3 pack at Sam's Club.

Sent the link to my Sister who just got a MiniDV camcorder. Guess it pays to buy an extended warranty as she walked in with a busted VHS and walked out with a Panasonic MiniDV camcorder at Sears.

Great price for hi-quality tape.
FYI: CC sells a 3-pack reg-grade for $9.99.

Just check CC's web site, $9.99 is 3 TDK hifi VHS tape not Mini-DV tape. Same tape as I posted at CC is $8.99 for one pack, $24.99 for 3 pack. Please post where you found 3 for $9.99 Thanks!

jchu14: bought 20 and the shipping is only $4.31

I guess you are closer to the warehouse.. shipping for me $5.14 to NJ for 5 tapes... still not bad, at $22, but I'll wait - I know there'll be something deal at a B&M before I really need more tapes.

also, seems like there is a minimum of 5.. wouldn't let me update the quantity to less than 5.

good price though, thanks

I'm in Houston. I think they charge flat shipping rate no matter how much you buy. The only difference is if you're residential instead of business area, it's a bit more expensive for UPS.

Terrific prices on many of their tapes....beware, however changing tape manufacturers, it can screw up the heads on your DV camera very quickly.

changing manufacturers would damage the heads?

I need miniDV blanks and a cleaning tape. I just emailed them to see if they carry the cleaning tapes (they aren't listed on the web site). I'll post the info here.

Fry's in Houston just had their weekend sale with Panasonic miniDV 60/90 tape for $3.99 (reg price $9.99). Thing with Fry's is, if they do it once it come back again soon.

My local Walmart store has mini dv tapes on clearance for $4.00. They were in the clearance isle, not in the electronics section. I don't recall the brand, but it's a name-brand...i think they are Maxell.

Too bad i can't find any good deals on Hi8 tapes since i have a Sony Hi8 digital camcorder! I NEVER see any Hi8 tapes on clearance on with a really good price.

Just wonderin....does a DV camcorder convert analog audio/video to digital in the camera itself? I thought i read somewhere that they don't. I do know the Sony Hi8 digital camcorder i have does this and other brands of Hi8 digital camcorders don't.

Nice! I am kinda thinking I should've for my DV Cam cause the Firewire port is broken and I don't know who/where to go to to fix it.

But then again, I haven't even really used the camcorder yet (not for important stuff), so I guess it doesn't matter much.

Just got mine. But the tapes' model is Panasonic AY-DVM60EK
not AY-DVM60EJ as on the web site.
Any difference between them?

Can anyone tell me if the Panasonic AY--DVM60EJ tapes are any good? I'm looking for some hi-grade miniDV tapes for an important event.

Any ideas? Let me know, thanks! :)

I think the EJ model has a memory chip to help indexing?

Just got a DV but not an expert. What will the EXCELLENCE TAPE do for you that the PREMIUM won't?

Shipping charges are the same for 10 tapes or 5 tapes or even 1 tape because 10 tapes weigh one pound and one pound is the UPS minimum.
