That would be a shame since a 28-280mm IS lens is extremely versatile; 99% of consumers basically don't ever need to take it off their G1 bodies.

Edit: that 20 (40mm) f/1.7 looks pretty sweet, especially in such a compact size.

oh i'm sure it's for pictures as well. it's got "HD" in its name on the roadmap, and has an "HD" logo on the lens. so it may be that the lens has special features for movies (i.e. it uses those two extra pins that were added to the 4/3 spec).

Wow.

I could not use that at all, except as a P&S.

It wouldn't work for any serious photography work for me.

it's not meant for serious work though, right? I mean, you could obviously get good pictures, but it's target market is basically the point and shooters that "want a little more" w/o getting a huge camera.

looks neat, but I'll be waiting for the oly micro 4/3s.. when are we gunna get some details!

target market is also for use as a pro's P&S.

I just set the defaults for a P&S I got in Lightroom, and looking at all that noise at 1:1 magnification was not pleasant. A 4/3 sensor would be a godsend in that regard.

I'd almost argue against that. It's still pretty bulky to be a "P&S" and it's yet another system. I'd gather a 'pro' would just buy an entry camera from their system and call it a day.

Something like the DP2 fits in that category I think. One that needs some more entry. Though, either way, it's good for competition.

But I hate EVF's. If it's just LCD on the back, cool, but if it has a viewfinder, I'd prefer it be optical.

EVF lets you shoot into the sun without burning your retina

EVF also looks like crap, and I'll never buy a serious camera without an optical viewfinder.
