The phone is $49.99 with a $10 MIR and a MIR for free headphones. This is in the bestbuy weekly add, but it is a pretty good deal for a digital spread spectrum phone with caller id and a headset. The following is from the bestbuy website:

Panasonic Digital 900MHz Cordless Phone
Model: KX-TC1703B

PRODUCT FEATURES
Digital 900MHz for enhanced clarity, range and security
Call-waiting caller ID lets you know who is calling before you answer the phone, even if you are switching over to a new call on call waiting
Speakerphone function, for totally hands-free calling, or group conference calls (The speakerphone is in the handset, not the base)
The belt clip and headset jack let you talk totally hands-free
50-name-and-number caller ID memory with call-back capability
6 hours of talk time/14 days of standby time
22-channel auto scanning finds the clearest reception
Handset volume control
Voice-mail message-waiting indicator
Handset locator
Self-cleaning battery contacts
Voice mail, call waiting and caller ID require additional service through your local phone company

There are two rebates. One for headset (exp 06/29) and one for $10 (exp 05/18)

Edit:
Here is a better deal:
Same phone @ OfficeDepot for $49.99 + some cheap item to go over $50 - $15 off $50 coupon = $34.99 + Free Shipping (+ tax)
Then, here is the rebate for free headset.

I just got this phone at Circuit City last week. It seems like a good, basic caller ID phone. It is digital 900mhz, but I don't think it is spread spectrum. I've looked over all the specs on this phone and DSS is not mentioned in anything I could find. I also have a Panasonic 900mzh DSS phone, but the model number is KXTC18xx.

It does have a nice display, a good directory feature and a speakerphone built into the handset. I haven't tested overall range, so I can't comment.

One thing to note: I looked at these phones at Target, and a similar model at Costco (1713b). The phone I bought was made in Malaysia. The phones at Target and Costco were made in Mexico. My subjective opinion is that the Malaysia phone is of a higher quality.

Mexico phone: The text display was much dimmer, the model number stickers and foam backing on the battery cover were crooked and it was packaged poorly. None of these things existed on the Malaysia phone. I'm probably just picking nits, but that's what I noticed. Take it for what it's worth.

I'm going to see if CC will price match the after rebate price (it was 49.99 when I bought it). If not, I'll just get it from BB.
