panasonic digital camera

does anyone have one of the panasonic dmc-fz series digital cameras? if so, which one and what do you like/dislike about it?

bah, neither canon nor nikon have any cameras that compete with the fz series in the ultra zoom compact category. the fz series uses leica lenses and have a great reputation. canon makes some good cameras but they have their issues also, such as speed, which several models have problems with.

i dont have one someone on here has one tho, actually IIRC a few people do, they are great cameras, and I would prsonally buy it over a Nikon or Canon if i was looking for a camera of that kind

I have the dmc-fz1 (modded to a 2) and LOVE it

pros: top of the line lens; super 12x optical zoom; image stabilization; lots of features

cons: weak flash; poor low-light focus

read up on it and all the higher models (fz3, fz5, fz10, fz15, fz20) at dpreview under forums-->panasonic talk

edit: I would DEFINATELY put panasonic fz cams on the short list of cameras to consider.

i am looking at the fz4 and buydig.com has it for $325. i just tested out a fz5 at wolf (didnt have the fz4) and i love these cameras but i am still not 100% on it yet because of the size. now i have to decide if the 12x is worth not being able to slip it in my pocket.
