Panasonic 7502 Blinking Problem

My Panasonic 7502 SCSI CDR drive has been blinking slowly for a couple of weeks now. Sometimes it works fine.. but other times, the busy light keeps blinking on and off, and it requires a cold boot just to open the CDR door. It's running alongside a Plextor Ultraplex 32, on an Adaptec 2910 PCI scsi care.

Any ideas? Is it pretty much toast?
 
Funny, I have the same burner and CDROM..

Anyway, I'd try messing with the cables.. checking/reseating connections. Heck, even try switching around some ID's to see if it helps.
