Damn, that's nice ... yellow flag on the 3 HDMI, at this size most have 4 in 2009 at least, but, great TV and an incredible price

Monoprice has a 4x1 powered HDMI switch w/remote for $30. Don't let a shortage of HDMI inputs affect your buying decision for any electronics.

Besides, 3 should be enough for almost anyone.

1. Blu ray player or PS3, with internet streaming Netflix, VUDU, etc
2. Satellite or cable receiver w/DVR
3....what else do you really need? Maybe a HTPC or Xbox.

If you need more than 3 HDMI inputs, it's probably time to consolidate your electronics a little bit.

People want everything included even when most will never come close to using all the ports. But it's nice to have them for that reason because you never know.. 3 imo is enough.

This is the S1, the entry-level model, slotted below the premium G10 and ultra-premium V10 models.

These are the things the G10 has that the S1 doesn't:
BTW, this list was copied from Randy Walters at AVS Forum
_________________________________________________________

Five Color Temp choices: Cool 2/Cool 1/Normal/Warm 1/Warm 2 (S1 only has the usual 3: Cool/Normal/Warm)

THX mode

48Hz mode

Sub Pixel Control

Viera Cast IPTV

Analog Audio Output

Can play AVCHD/MPEG2 video from the SD card slot

Bass Boost: Enhances bass sound and provides powerful sound. (On/Off)

x.v.Color: Provides the appropriate picture when images corresponding to ?x.v.Color? are input via the HDMI input of this TV. (Off/Auto)

LAN Port

VGA port

Nicer Pedestal Stand

A few more calibration options, better connectivity options, and some modes that are apparently awful anyway (48 Hz and THX). It's actually the same panel in the two TVs. Viera Cast may be important for some people. To me, none of these features warrants the few extra hundred $ for the G10, but the V10 is a big step up from either (96Hz playback of 24 fps content, flush bezel, etc).

Meh - I got the 54" S1 and DMP-BD60 Blu Ray player for $1239 last week on amazon. No tax or shipping either.

BTW, the TV is fantastic. The only real difference between the S1 and the G10 is Viera Cast, and my Blu Ray player has it. I dont use any of the other features, as I have it wall mounted with surround sound system. I've calibrated it based on DNice's settings from AVS. Love it.

**...State law may require sales tax to be charged on the pre-discounted price if the product is subject to sales tax.

To be clear, Costco extends the warranty to 2 years; they don't add 2 years on top of the manufacturer's warranty, the total warranty is 2 years.

If you use american express they add another year, I am considering this deal 3 yr warranty on this set would be a very nice deal, having had a 37 inch lcd flat screen develop problems after 2 years.

that would be a great deal then. new panel with a 3 year warranty and the price is good.

pannys are pretty reliable but its still worth it.
