I searched the Web for this supposed deal. It wasn't here in these forums. At Bens. It was not at FW either. I wonder where it was listed at. Hmmmm.

Best I saw was $480 + tax a few weeks ago which means $480 + tax not $400 plus tax.

Saw the 480$ Dell price today for the panny and first thing I did was check Amazon - same price! So I got at Amazon around 1pm today CT for 479 - free shipping from Amazon LLC and of course no tax... An hour later it was jacked back up to 749 and now its at 585...

Dell had this yesterday for $480+tax with free shipping as their deal of the day. I wanted to get it, but wanted to eeek out some more savings...by the time I got the coupon code I needed, they sold out. I've been kicking myself ever since. 😛

I read all the great reviews from this TV. Everyone who's bought one has been satisfied for the most part. I'm thinking I may try to find one of these somewhere for a decent price and then maybe splurge on a Samsung LED for the main screen...

My biggest problem is that the stores I go to rarely have enough space in the aisle to view the TVs at an optimal distance. Until you get it in your living room or bedroom to see how things scale from 8-10 feet it's hard to decide.

What bothers me is many of the stores have DVDs that are made for the 16:9 format. When viewing standard 4:3 that's upscaled, you lose a little bit. Some TVs are worse than others for that sort of translation.

Well, if BF this year is anything like last year...it won't be much to get excited about. It was pretty lame compared to BF of years past .

I honestly snagged some better deals in November prior to BF than I did on BF weekend and prior to Christmas. So far, I have yet to beat some of those prices pre-BF 2008 prices on flash memory ($4.99 shipped 4GB Class 6 SDHC cards, $9.99 shipped 8GB USB flash drive, $19.99 shipped 16GB USB Flash drive) almost a year later.

But yeah, I am also kicking myself for not making up my mind sooner on the $480 Dell Panny deal as an early Christmas gift for the parents and/or myself. We may see something similar from BB closer to holidays as they've gotten surprisingly aggressive for B&M with some of their LCD & plasma pricing lately.
