I was back in the warehouse today and saw that they now have a 3D "Essential" kit for $129. It includes two pair of battery powered glasses and 2 movies (Coraline and Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs).

The cheapest I could find this kit anywhere was $202 so I think it's a good deal to go with our fantastic new 46" Plasma 3D

Active shutter 3D glasses have to be matched for the manufacturer so Panasonic only.

I think there are some 3rd-party manufacturers that plan to offer multi-vendor glasses but I haven't seen any yet.

that's an insanely cheap deal. Most single glasses go for like 149 at retailers like best buy. I just picked up the 46" panasonic 3d plasma and man am i impressed by it. Can't wait to add some more glasses into the mix. I tried to get panasonic to send me avatar 3d because i just bought the tv and 3d blu ray player this week but they replied with a very harsh "no way".

Costco had their panasonic 3d blu ray player on clearance at 120$ when i bought it. I think i saw it for 290$ at best buy earlier that day. I was lucky, now with these glasses i am blessed. thanks.

...because we live in a 2D world 😵

I dunno about you, but I see everything around me in 3D

None of what you say changes the fact that if you wear these glasses to your local grocery store, you will be able to see the produce in glorious 3D! Whether said produce also appears in 3D without said glasses is irrelevant. These guys really need to hire me to do their marketing.

Why, look! Here's a trendy young lady wearing a pair right now!

Will these work with any brand 3D TV, or only Panasonic TVs?

Basically, the glasses have different tints.... and the TV, when in 3D mode, compensates for this. Sony, Panasonic, LG and Samsung are all different, and require matched glasses. Mitsubishi shares 3D tech with Samsung, so they use Samsung's glasses.

I hope that clears things up.

The shutters **WILL** sync fine between one mfg's glasses and another mfg's TV, but the color may look off.
