Staples has to charge next day shipping though.Which is $37.00.The reason staples csr told me was that staples has free next day shipping so they have to charge etronics next day shipping charge. That sucks!

I thought Panasonic phones were okay. Never get VTech phones. They make the cheapest phones available!

<< has anyone had problems with the 2.4 ghz phones interfering with broadband connections (dsl)? >>

Why would a 2.4GMHz cordless phone interfere with a broadband internet connection which I'm assuming uses ethernet cables instead of going through the air? Unless you mean the wireless networking 802.11 thingie?

I know auctions are not a hotdeal but I just won this phone on Ubid for $59 (refurnished)and I also won the answering machine version for $69. I was very close to buying a refurb from Overstock.com with a coupon before this, I am glad I didn't it would have cost me $30 more. If you are not concerned with refurb vs. New Ubid may be worth checking out.

actually guys the 2.4ghz phones are better with DSL especially crappy shared phone line self install types. I hear the fuzzy noise on my 900mhz fone and with the 2.4ghz nada!

I got the Siemens Gigaset 2410 from Staples for $103 with pricematch and coupon...
The CSR used the other sites ground shipping by mistake...it was an awesome deal and the phone rocks....
Uses AA rechargable batteries so I bought some Kodak's 1600 mAh and I get 1 week standby time with them....

I hate to keep writing negative things on these Panasonic phones every time I see these deals but I just want you to know these Panasonic 2.4 Ghz phones are crap. I've owned 3 generations of Panasonic phones and loved them so I bought the 2.4 Ghz sight unseen. Only after I bought it did I realize how crappy these phones are. The default channel is staticy and needs to be changed immediately (there is no way to permanently change the default channel). There is NO redial button! You need to press 3 keys in order to redial. It is just a very poorly designed phone. Don't buy it just because it is 2.4 Ghz. You should check out other models before buying this one.

Sorry for the rant but I bought this POS right when it came out for over $200.

As for interference, I have a DSL line and the phone causes no problems with my line though Verizon says it can cause problems.

Uh, I don't know which model you've got, but I've got the cheapest one they make TGX-2400B, and the thing is crystal clear and there is a redial button. I though the one I had was the original design. One note though, I had to send the unit in for service b/c the reception went down the crapper for no reason. They had to change the contacts for charging in the base and the phone and make a few "adjustments". Still a good phone. My two cents.

i think you need to change your doggie treats because they're messing with your head...

I have the KX-TG2650N and it is the best phone I've ever purchased. The clarity is something I've never experienced with another phone.

I've got the 2550 and it's not in my head. The thing is a POS. I've bought 3 cordless phones from Panasonic and loved them except this 2.4Ghz model. I finally just bought a cheap 900Mhz Uniden for $19 from Amazon and the thing sounds better than my 2.4Ghz.

Plus there is no redial button on my phone. You have to hit the right function key. Goto the redial function then hit talk. That is not my idea of a redial. I bought one of the most expensive (at the time) with caller ID but without the answering machine. Maybe you have had good experiences with yours but I've seen read alot of other people having problems with their 2.4 Panasonics as well. Check the other threads.

After buying and finding out that Sony made the worst cordless phones (900Mhz makes clicking sounds and an older one never locked onto channels) I went with Panasonic after hearing good things about them. I haven't had any problems with my 3 old ones it's just that I tend to give stuff away everytime I move. I bought the 2.4Ghz without knowing a thing about them and was disappointed in it nearly the moment I started using it. It sucks to hit the talk button and hear static everytime a sound is made. Then I have to tell the person to hold on a second while I switch channels. Sometimes the phone doesn't even lock in on a channel when the base is inches away. Other times my phone forgets its security code and needs to be reset onto the base for it to work. I could go on and on but I'm just relaying my problems with this poorly designed phone.

I have the new 2670N 2.4gig/ans mach. It is crystal clear, has a redial button, and more features than I can list! The thing I find surprising is
caller ID.I do not subscribe to caller ID,but when i get a call on the
answering machine it gives me the callers number! This only happens if I
let the machine take it.If I pick up the reciever it does not register!
My reciever is as small as the new cell phones!

DSL over the phone wire operates around the 2.4 GHz frequency. EM waves have frequencies traveling through any media, not just air. The shielding on wires usually isn't adaquete. A friend of mine had problems with this and had to get his 900 MHz phone back. I was just wondering if this was a isolated problem or if others have experienced it?

I have owned a panasonic 2.4ghz gigarange phone with caller id since the valu-america days (got it for like $80) and I have not been 100% satisfied with it. Sometimes it gives me an out of range message when I'm like 3 feet from the base and sometimes the phone does not answer when I press the talk button. Also the sound, while usually very clear, is often way too low with the volume turned all the way up. As mentioned above the lack of a dedicated redial button is a negative. Overall, the phone is great looking (got it in silver) and ergonomic. I would never had purchased it for $160, but I feel it was worth about $80 when I bought it a year ago. Would I buy it again today at that price...maybe. I'd have to see what else is out there. Whatever you do don't buy a vtech or a sony as those brands are a pos (at least the models I have used.)

I also have this phone about 4 feet from my dsl modem and router and have not experienced any problems. I have had some interference from another 900mhz phone that was right next to it, but I moved it a few feet away and have not experienced any more problems.

AbsolutPower, I have a Verizon DSL line right next to my 2.4GHz phone and the line works flawlessly.

As for Sonys, they make great TVs and audio equipment but I agree their cordless phones have got to be the worst. Hopefully, Panasonic got it right with their new phones because I wouldn't know what other brand to buy.
