Panaflos- Quiet, but do they cool good?

So, after following your guys suggestions last week, I replaced my enlight case with a antec sx1035, and am extremely happy with the temps it now runs at. I used to run at 52 under idle, now, I'm 45 idle, and 50/51 under load. Now that I'm happy with the temperatures, I was hoping to bring the noise level down a little bit. After reading some posts here, it seems that the panaflos are the some of the quietest you can get. Question is, do they move the air as well? I currently have the two antec fans that came with the case in the back, and a sunon fan in the front blowing over the hard drive. If I replaced the three of them with panaflos, would my temps go back up, or do they move air just as good? If thats the case, would it help to add a fourth one, in the front? Thanks for any help...

I switched my 1040's fans with Panaflo L1A's and added another one to the front. It did not change my temps at all. Adding a 4th fan as an intake fan will probably not lower your temps at all. Since you are not increasing the air exchange rate. Intake fans only control where the air get pulled from (Unless you are running with positive pressure).

Good rule of thumb for case cooling:

At least one more exhaust fan than intake fans.
Upper half of case: make exhaust
Lower hlaf: Intake

It depends really...on your placement of fans, it's not necessarily HOW MUCH air you move, but HOW you move it.

Thanks for the replies. I was reading some more, and a few posts mention fans called "Silencers". They seem to put out more air, with even less noise. Are my numbers right, the antec fans push 30 cfm, the panaflo 24cfm, and the silencers 28?

I have the Silencers on my Antec SX cases. They're made by PC Power and Cooling (their website is their name without the spaces). They're rated better and Gizzo claims they do push more air than the Panaflos. They're also more expensive. I haven't had the Panaflos, so I can't directly compare them, but I've been happy with them. They aren't silent in SX cases, however.

When I went to Panaflos, my temps went up about 2 to 3 degrees. A big part of cooling is your power supply, make sure to get a dual fan, if u want better temps

The Silencer fans aren't nearly as expensive as I thought they would be...

28cfm @ 20dB

1-3 for $9.00 ea.
4-11 for $8.40 ea.
12-31 for $8.19 ea.
32-99 for $7.92 ea.

Panaflo L1A's are $2.49 for 1-9, $1.99 for 10+

I installed 4 L1As in my SX830 case and the temps were exactly the same as 2 34CFM, and 2 41 CFM at idle, I didn't try load temps. Both readings were at 21.9C room temps. My case temp. was 25C and CPU was 36C on PAL8045 with 48CFM fan.
